The main reason to purchase a hot tub, in my opinion, is to be able to relax in it. Having an inflatable hot tub with seats will allow you to do exactly that. Not all inflatable hot tubs have seats. As the inflatable variety tend to run a little smaller, many manufacturers opt for more room by removing seating and instead have the user sit on the ground. This can be quite uncomfortable if you don’t have some sort of cushion down underneath or if the hot tub is on concrete.
What’s the best inflatable hot tub with seats?
Surprisingly, there are few inflatable hot tubs with built-in seats. However, you can purchase cushions separately to sit on while in the hot tub. In my opinion, this is actually better since you can purchase whatever brand you prefer and add these “seats” yourself. While these are “inflatable”, you will actually want to inflate them with water, rather than air. It will be very difficult to keep underneath the water if there is any air in it at all. So be sure to replace all the air with water for maximum usability. Inflating these can be a bit tricky too if you haven’t seen any tips or tricks. The best one I found was to fill it underwater with a hose. That way, no air gets in. You can also adjust how firm you want them by how much water you pump into it. The more water you put into the inflatable hot tub cushion, the more firm the cushion will be. Let’s take a look at a few of the options available for an inflatable hot tub seat.
This particular inflatable hot tub seat cushion features suction cups on the bottom to keep it in place on the bottom of your hot tub. This is a somewhat requested feature of many of the seat cushions that the Life Spa brand took advantage of. This hot tub seat doubles as both a cushion for comfort and a booster seat to lift you off the ground. The material is a heat resistant, heavy duty plastic and when filled the dimensions are 4 inches tall and 15 inches x 13 inches long. Keep in mind, if you have a textured tub, the suction cups may not work as ideally as on a flat surface. There have also been reports of the suction cups ripping if you try and remove the cushion without first releasing the suction. While this inflatable cushion isn’t quite an inflatable hot tub with seats, it makes a pretty decent alternative and can help keep someone with a short torso above the water comfortably.
The M-Spa brand also makes there own inflatable seat cushion. This set comes with 2, which is perfect so you will never have to share. Unlike the previous model, this one does not include any suction cups so it may move around a little more if you aren’t careful. One tip that a reader suggested for this one is to place a few bags of marbles inside before you fill it. It will help to keep it weighed down, as well as keep it steady. Another review suggested to fill one with water from the hot tub, but only fill it about halfway. Drape it over the side of your hot tub and you can use it like a warm pillow for maximum relaxation. These cushions are just as tall as the previous cushion at 4 inches, but are a little larger at 18 inches x 15 inches. The material used on these is a super soft PVC material for added comfort and it features an internal coil structure for extra strength. The color is a plain grey as displayed above.
As you can see, an inflatable hot tub with seats isn’t always needed when you can instead purchase any hot tub you want and purchase the seat cushions separately. Of the 2 listed above, I prefer the M-Spa branded one a little more than the Life Spa cushion. I like that it comes with 2 cushions and they are a little more durable (without the suction cups) so they will last longer. They also provide a larger seating area and give more flexibility to what you can do with them.
